All About Oils
Natural Oils can be categorised into two main types; essential oils and carrier oils.
Essential Oils: They are a liquid that is generally distilled from the leaves, flowers, bark, roots or other elements of a plant. Unlike the name, essential oils are not really oily feeling. They are clear, light and are easily absorbed by the skin. Essential Oils have many natural benefits for hair and skin. They are extensively used in aromatherapy. Some popular essential oils are Tea Tree, Rosemary, Lemongrass, etc.
Carrier Oils: They 'carry' essential oils into the skin and are used widely in aromatherapy. Carrier Oils, also called base oils or vegetable oils are used to dilute essential oils before they are applied to the skin or hair for massaging or aromatherapy healing. Cold pressing is the best and the purest way of making carrier oils. These oils have a mild aroma and they leave your skin with a pleasant smell and a soft and smooth touch.
